Christmas all year

IMGP0154

So much for making up the slack of the holidays. I think the real "slack" hit after I got home from them. Despite what it appears like on our blog, we did have a Christmas, and a very nice one at that. But between moving from our garage into our house, illnesses that were passed around the family a couple times, and everyday life getting in the way, our blog has severely suffered. We have all heard people say they wish the Christmas season could last all year, well consider this my contribution to extending the life of Christmas for another month. (hehe)

Of course we have to mention gifts. As can be deduced from the previous posts, Cody and I got a house for Christmas (yea!). And, although technically the house was for all of us, Rya got some other fun stuff for Christmas too.

She got an electric toothbrush. I can guess what that makes some people think, but there is a story behind this gift. Despite having her own toothbrush, and a very cute Elmo brush, she constantly was stealing mine or Cody's. We would find our toothbrushes all places around the house and to top that, they were always slightly damp, obviously making us wonder if Rya's mouth was the only place they visited. My conclusion was either it was the mint flavoring, or that she found our toothbrushes far cooler than her own. So I was inspired to get her a toothbrush that could be considered cooler than ours, thus the electric toothbrush. Well, it worked, she doesn't steal ours anymore, but I have to admit that at times I am a little tempted to borrow hers and try it out (hehe).

There were a lot of other great gifts that she got from Aunt's and Uncles, grandparents and us that she loves and still plays with constantly, but the big one was the one Santa brought. Rya got her first tricycle. She can't quite reach the pedals, but fortunately it has a push bar so she can still ride. She loved it, the cousins loved it; it was a hit!

I think, though, the best part of the holidays for all of us was to be able to spend time with our family. Unfortunately, we were not able to see all of them, but we count it as a great blessing when we get to see those we love that are live so far from us.
